Terms and Conditions
These terms govern use of Defusely by PR agencies and in-house comms teams using our Reddit crisis response platform.
Agreement and scope
This is an agreement between Defusely and a customer organization (agency or company). Users act on behalf of that organization. By using Defusely, you accept these terms on behalf of your organization.
What Defusely does
- Provides a Reddit-first crisis response and Reddit brand monitoring workspace
- Turns Reddit threads into WarRooms with AI summaries, sentiment and severity scoring, suggested actions, drafts, and reports
- Focuses on the 7-step crisis workflow: Detect, Assess, Contain, Decide, Craft, Coordinate, Post-mortem
- Relies on Reddit and other monitoring tools for detection; does not control Reddit
Your responsibilities
- Use Defusely lawfully and respect Reddit's terms and subreddit rules
- Keep login credentials secure and manage who can see client incidents
- Only upload or paste content you have a right to use
- Review, approve, and take responsibility for all responses before posting to Reddit or sharing with stakeholders
- Ensure internal legal and compliance teams review high-risk situations as needed
Our responsibilities and what we do not promise
- Provide reasonable efforts to keep Defusely available and secure
- Offer support through documented channels
- Do not guarantee that using Defusely will prevent crises, negative coverage, or legal issues
- Not responsible for Reddit, upstream monitoring tools, internet problems, or third-party platforms
AI summaries and drafts
- AI generates summaries, scores, and draft responses using your data and prompts
- Output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable; it is not legal advice
- You must treat AI output as suggestions; you own final decisions and statements
Plans, fees, and payment
- Defusely is sold as a subscription (monthly or annual)
- You agree to pay fees for the selected plan on schedule
- We may change pricing with notice, applied at renewal
- Taxes and third-party fees are your responsibility
Term, suspension, and termination
- Terms run for the subscription period and renew unless cancelled
- Defusely may suspend or terminate for non-payment, abuse, or security and legal concerns
- On termination, customers get a reasonable window to export data; we keep limited data for backups and legal obligations
Intellectual property
- Defusely owns the platform, brand, and technology
- You own your data, incidents, notes, and final responses
- You grant Defusely a limited license to host and process data to provide and improve the service
Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential information private. This includes client names, Reddit incidents, internal notes, response strategies, and reports shared within WarRooms. Neither party will disclose confidential information without consent, except as required by law.
Warranties and disclaimers
- Defusely is provided "as is" and "as available"
- We do not guarantee specific results, outcomes, rankings, or crisis resolutions
- We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
Limitation of liability
- No liability for indirect or consequential damages (lost profits, reputational harm, etc.)
- Direct liability capped to fees paid over the prior 12 months
- Subject to any non-waivable legal rights in your jurisdiction
Governing law and disputes
Defusely is operated from Oakville, Ontario, Canada. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice in the product at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms.
